To free the “conceptual groundwork” of the “White Blindspot.” Theodore W. Allen

The Invention of the White Race Volume I: Racial Oppression and Social Control was published in 1994, three years before the second volume. The first volume was written, according to Theodore W. Allen, to free the “conceptual groundwork” of the “White Blindspot.” In this way he hoped that the reader would more clearly understand “The Invention of the White Race” at the end of the 17th century -- a history that he thoroughly details in Volume II and briefly outlines on p. 23 of Volume I.
